Entire families killed in Kamenica camp near Drvar

The Association of Camp Detainees in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with its members Regional Association Banja Luka and SUL USK "Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić", marked the anniversary of the crime in the Kamenica camp in the municipality of Drvar on Saturday, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Kamenica camp is one of 657 camps formed during the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of systematically torturing the non-Serb population. Civilians from the areas of Kulen Vakuf, Ključ, Sanski Most, Kupres, Bosanski Petrovac, Bosanska Krupa and other areas that were annexed to the Autonomous Region of Krajina during that period, as well as prisoners of war of the Army of BiH and HVO, were held in the camp.

The Association of Camp Detainees of BiH reminds that Kamenica camp ranks among the highest in terms of cruelty and inhumane treatment among the atrocities committed.

- Camp detainees, in addition to being held in inadequate, damp rooms from which they were not released for months, with barely sufficient food and water for survival, were daily tortured, beaten, mutilated, and taken to the Golubnjača pit where they were treacherously liquidated and thrown into the pit - the Association reminds.

The camp was open from 1992 to 1995. More than 200 women and men passed through the camp, of whom about 50 were killed, including entire families and one pregnant woman, writes NAP.
