KS: 138 New Infections, 426 Vaccine Doses Administered in Health Centers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the KS Public Health Institute, 138 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, following laboratory testing of 744 samples. In the same period, 140 people recovered. Four people died from the consequences of this infection.

Currently, 162 patients are hospitalized, of whom 147 have acute infections, while the rest are post-COVID or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated individuals among hospitalized patients is 17.28 percent.

At the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, 89 patients are being treated, and at the "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" General Hospital, 73 are being treated. Nine people are on ventilators, and the same number of patients are using non-invasive ventilation. Eleven patients are using oxygen support for breathing.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,383 active cases of COVID-19 infection. Currently, 2,599 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 63,655 people have been infected with the coronavirus, and 60,788 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected individuals is 138, while the weekly incidence, or the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 230," according to data from the KS Public Health Institute.

In the COVID-19 outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, 321 patients were examined, of whom 11 were transported to hospital treatment. 904 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in COVID-19 outpatient clinics. Drive-in points at Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate daily from 07:30 to 20:00.

The COVID-19 call center recorded 623 calls, and 246 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the COVID-19 outpatient clinics.

During the past day, a total of 426 vaccine doses were administered in the health centers in KS.

We note that from November 1, 2021, the immunization of the population is no longer carried out at Zetra but in health centers in all nine municipalities of Sarajevo Canton.

The Ministry of Health KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and healthcare institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and urge them to continue to respect all prescribed hygiene and epidemiological measures.
