Increased police checks in Kozarac, returnees not harassed

Residents of Kozarac are still waiting for the results of the investigation against Zikrija Krkić, suspected of murdering Muharem Balić and Almir Redžić in Trnopolje on July 28, confirmed for the Patria News Agency (NAP) by Amir ef. Mahić, chief imam of the Islamic Community of Kozarac.

As ef. Mahić told us, the population is slowly recovering from the shock, but the story is still current in the bazaar and people constantly want to know the details of the investigation.

- The media have also cooled down a bit, so the population is a little calmer. Life is returning to normal, and we will see everything when the investigation results are released – says ef. Mahić.

We previously wrote that returnees in Kozarac are now in even greater fear, especially since the suspect is allegedly a member of the Wahhabi movement. According to ef. Mahić, the jamaat members in this area have been under special police surveillance even before.

- Police patrols have been increased, but there is no major harassment of residents. Although it is noticeable that the police are conducting increased checks, returnees have not been harassed so far – says ef. Mahić, adding that everyone is awaiting the investigation results to learn the truth about this case.
