700 Americans died in one day, half in New York State

(Patria) – The US government is urgently working on building hundreds of temporary hospitals to relieve the healthcare system, which is already under immense pressure due to the rapidly growing number of coronavirus infections.

In just one day, 700 Americans died, almost half of them in New York State, which is still the epicenter of the epidemic in the US.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has requested reinforcements from the Trump administration, emphasizing that the worst is yet to come in a couple of weeks.

De Blasio requested an additional 1,000 nurses, 300 respiratory therapists, and 150 doctors by April 5, but is still awaiting a response from the government.

The number of infected people in the US is 184,000, while 3,700 Americans have lost their battle with the deadly virus.

A nurse at one of the leading hospitals in Manhattan stated that she was shocked by the poor condition of young patients who did not have any chronic diseases.

The leading US infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, stated that the hardest days are yet to come for the US, and that ultimately 200,000 people could lose their lives.

Mandatory home isolation measures are in effect in more than 30 US states, causing millions of people to lose their jobs.
