In January, 71,519 tourists in the Federation of BiH, 4.2 percent more compared to January last year

(Patria) - The total number of tourist arrivals in January 2026 in the Federation of BiH was 71,519, which is 0.4 percent less compared to January 2025, while compared to December 2025 it is 10.9 percent less.

The share of domestic tourists in the total number of arrivals was 38.8 percent, and foreign tourists 61.2 percent, according to data from the Institute for Statistics of the Federation of BiH.

The total number of tourist overnight stays in January 2026 in the Federation of BiH was 157,667, which is 4.2 percent more compared to January 2025, while compared to December 2025 it was 2.7 percent higher. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 35 percent, and foreign tourists 65 percent.

By type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was achieved in the category Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 96.8 percent.

In the structure of foreign tourist overnight stays, the most overnight stays in January were made by tourists from: Croatia (35.1 percent), Serbia (11.2 percent), Turkey (10.9 percent), Montenegro (6.9 percent) and Slovenia (3.7 percent), which totals 67.8 percent. Tourists from other countries achieved 32.2 percent of overnight stays, according to data from the Federal Institute for Statistics.

The number of available beds in January 2026 was 29,247, which is four percent less compared to January 2025. The net bed occupancy rate for the category Hotels and similar accommodation in the Federation of BiH in January this year was 20 percent.
