It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our colleague journalist, Ismail Al-Ghoul, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike while courageously covering the events in northern Gaza. Ismail was known for his professionalism and dedication, drawing the world's attention to the suffering and crimes committed in Gaza, especially at Al-Shifa hospital and in the northern neighborhoods.
"Had it not been for Ismail, the world would not have seen the devastating consequences of these massacres," he wrote on social media platform X, adding that Al-Ghoul "conveyed the events and reality of Gaza to the world through Al Jazeera".
"His voice is now silenced. Ismail fulfilled his mission in his homeland. Shame on those who have failed civilians, journalists, and humanity," Moawad added.
