
(Patria) - In the settlement of Krivi Put, near the Croatian town of Senj, a Turkish Air Tractor type AT-802 crashed this afternoon.
Croatian media report that around 6 p.m. rescuers reached the crash site and found the aircraft in flames. Only the pilot was on board, and his body was found.
The Operational Center of Civil Protection received information from Croatia Air Navigation at 4:53 p.m. today about the disappearance from radar of the Turkish Air Tractor AT-802, which was on a circular flight Rijeka-Zagreb-Rijeka, and a search and rescue operation was launched.
After that, at 5:11 p.m., the Gospić County Center 112 received a report of the aircraft crash and fire at the location Krivi Put, and immediately notified emergency services.
Police, firefighters, emergency medical services, and a coordinator at the site - the head of the Gospić Regional Office of Civil Protection - were dispatched to the scene.
According to Flightradar data, the aircraft belongs to the General Directorate of Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.
