
(Patria) - Border Police officers of BiH prevented the smuggling of 17 persons of Afro-Asian origin during the night who did not possess identification documents, it was announced from the BP. In conversation with the police, they stated that they come from Syria and Iraq.
"The illegal migrants were discovered during the control of two vehicles, with BiH national plates, in the border area in the municipality of Gacko. The vehicles were driven by A.M. (1961) and A.S. (1975), citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I.Č. (1982) and V.I. (1986), also BiH citizens, are also linked to this smuggling," stated the Border Police, reports Patria.
According to the order of the prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of "organizing a group or association for the commission of the criminal offense of smuggling migrants, in connection with the criminal offense of 'human trafficking'," A.M., A.S., I.Č., and V.I. were deprived of their liberty. The vehicles and other evidence were temporarily confiscated. Further work on this case is ongoing.
