(Patria) - According to satellite images, at least seven military aircraft were destroyed in an explosion that occurred on Tuesday at a Russian air base. This is an air base in Crimea.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown. According to the official version of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the explosion was caused by the detonation of ammunition, but they did not reveal how the detonation occurred.
Satellite images have emerged.
Ukrainian journalist Illia Ponomarenko published a satellite image of the destroyed Saki base in Crimea.
"From 'Kyiv will fall within 72 hours' to 'a key air base has been destroyed by a Ukrainian attack'. Life is a mystery," he wrote.
Footage showing long columns of cars has spread on social media in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.
According to the British Telegraph, the cars creating the large traffic jam are carrying Russian civilians who have decided to flee the peninsula after yesterday's explosions at the Russian Saki military air base in western Crimea.
Although official Kyiv remains silent about the explosions at the Russian military base in Crimea, a high-ranking Ukrainian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Ukrainian special forces were responsible for the violent explosions that devastated the base yesterday.
