New reductions in parafiscal charges to help the economy

(Patria) - At the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, the Government of Sarajevo Canton determined at today's session the Proposal for a Law amending the Law on Tourism of Sarajevo Canton, and sent it to the parliamentary procedure.

Given that this is an urgent measure to help the economy, and that this Law is not extensive, the Government proposed that it be adopted under an urgent procedure.

This amendment to the Law entails a reduction in the amount of membership fees paid to the Tourist Board by 50 percent, i.e., from the current 0.05 percent to 0.025 percent.

"The goal of this reduction in membership fees is to relieve the economy, but also to enable the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton, for which this membership fee is a direct income, to use part of these funds for the promotion of the tourism potentials of Sarajevo Canton and other forms of business," stated the Minister of Economy of KS Adnan Delić.

He said that the KS Government is committed to facilitating the business of economic entities in some way by reducing parafiscal charges, which have suffered and are still suffering great consequences in their operations due to health measures implemented by crisis headquarters, although the Tourist Board itself has suffered significant negative consequences, which can also be seen from the membership fee payments which, from the beginning of the pandemic, became smaller from month to month, and the amount of membership fees paid in 2020 is 37.61% lower compared to 2019.
