Economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic is developing in a positive direction. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the five priority countries for the Czech Republic in the world, said Petar Kašička, advisor at the Czech Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.
"The Czech Republic assists several sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina with 2.5 to three million euros annually. In the last five years, trade between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic has increased by 60 percent," said Kašička, emphasizing that two positive trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina relate to the increased percentage of imports and exports.
Exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Czech Republic in 2012 were in a ratio of 2:1, while in 2014 they reached 90 percent.
Good trends, according to Kašička, also include the fact that in recent years, fewer raw materials and more finished products have been exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Fifty percent of exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina are car seats, engine parts, and furniture," says Kašička, noting that there are many companies in the Czech Republic ready to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, he believes that due to economic cooperation and market conditions, state support is very important.
"The best benchmark for investors is to invest where there are successful investments," adds Kašička.
He believes that most problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be resolved through EU accession.
