Hitman Csaba Der apprehended in Czech Republic, arrested in Sarajevo in 2017

Csaba Der (39), a hitman suspected of murdering Nebojša Marković in the Belgrade neighborhood of Banovo Brdo on January 5 this year, has been arrested in the Czech Republic, Blic reports. Marković was not linked to any criminal activities, nor did he have a police record, which is why it is believed that Csaba killed the wrong person, and that the real target was Aleksandar Š. who lives in the same building as Marković.

The Republic of Serbia will request the extradition of the suspect D. Č. in order to be prosecuted in that country for the crime he is suspected of. International arrest warrants and European arrest warrants have been issued for the suspect D. Č. by several countries.

Der Csaba is the Serb with the most red notices. He killed three people in five months, and police from Serbia, Hungary, and the Netherlands were searching for him.

Last June, he liquidated the Croat Ivan Serdarušić (62) in an Italian restaurant in the Netherlands, a controversial businessman involved in the smuggling of 100 kilograms of cocaine. Surveillance camera footage emerged showing Csaba entering the restaurant and shooting Serdarušić in the head with a silenced pistol in front of numerous guests. Dutch media linked the murdered Serdarušić to local criminal groups, noting that he was not highly ranked in the Amsterdam underworld, but it was believed that his liquidation was related to suspicious dealings.

The Hungarian police have also issued an arrest warrant for Der, suspecting him of liquidating businessman László V. on September 20 last year in Budapest, less than two months after the murder in Amsterdam. He killed the businessman in a Budapest parking lot by forcing him to kneel and shooting him in the head.

Csaba Der was arrested in Sarajevo in September 2017 along with Marko Gojčević from Bar. The police found weapons with silencers and a large sum of money on them at the time. They claimed at the time that they had the weapons for personal safety.

Gojčević and Der were sentenced to one year in prison each by the Sarajevo Municipal Court for illegal possession of weapons. Although it was suspected that they came to Sarajevo to carry out a liquidation, this was not confirmed during the investigation.

In April 2018, both were released from the Zenica Penitentiary and deported from Bosnia and Herzegovina with a five-year entry ban.
