In BPK Goražde, they want to prevent business space owners from renting to betting shops

GORAŽDE, (Patria) - At the session of the Assembly of the Bosniopodrinjski Canton, scheduled for next Tuesday, the Law on Amendments to the Law on Property Tax, inheritance, and gift of BPK Goražde is on the agenda, among other items.

This law stipulates that owners of business premises who decide to rent them to betting shops must pay property tax in the amount of 300 KM per square meter annually, while they will have to pay 3 KM annually per square meter if they rent that space to another business activity.

- This doesn't exist even in North Korea. This is just another way to completely drive legal domestic betting shops out of Goražde and to favor other interest lobbies and the black market. How else can one comment on the fact that the owner of a space of, for example, 30 square meters will have to pay 9,000 KM in property tax annually if they rent that space to a betting shop, and if they rent it to another business, they will only have to pay 90 KM, say indignant organizers of games of chance.

If this law is adopted, they believe it will be difficult for any domestic betting shop to remain in Goražde, as no business space owner will benefit from renting space to betting shops.

- In Goražde, they have definitely decided to drive out all domestic legal betting shops. Betting shops have to pay 10,000 KM for each computer they have at a payment point, and since most have two computers, that's 20,000 KM per payment point. In addition, a utility tax of 3,600 KM per year per payment point is also paid. As if that were not enough, they are now practically forcing business space owners not to rent them to betting shops - say the organizers of games of chance, adding that this is just a continuation of organized and continuous attacks on domestic betting shops in Goražde and FBiH, with the aim of destroying legal domestic betting shops and favoring foreign interest lobbies and the domestic black market.

The session was scheduled for today, but was postponed to December 26.
