DM warehouse on fire in Belgrade, explosions heard, flames shooting 50 metres into the air

As RTS reports, a major fire broke out in Belgrade this morning, explosions are heard, and flames are shooting over 50 metres into the air. A 3,000-square-metre section of a 6,000-square-metre warehouse is burning.

Several companies, including DM, store goods in the warehouse. Mostly household products and "household chemicals" are burning, according to firefighters, around 60 of whom are at the scene extinguishing the blaze, reports the Patria news agency.   

According to initial information, there are no injuries. 

The head of the Emergency Situations Sector of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, Predrag Marić, told RTS that the further spread of the fire was prevented thanks to the rapid intervention of firefighters. He said their access was hindered by explosions, given that there are many cosmetic products in the warehouse. 

The air is not polluted, the relevant services have stated.
