(Patria) - Schools in Beirut and its surroundings will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, the Lebanese Ministry of Education announced last night, following two Israeli attacks on the Lebanese capital.
"Minister of Education Abbas Halabi announced the closure of public and private schools and private higher education institutions," the ministry's statement said.
Israeli forces carried out two attacks on Beirut yesterday, in which at least one person was killed and nine injured.
Israel, which has been in open war against Hezbollah since September 23, has intensified its attacks in recent days on the strongholds of this Lebanese movement, especially in the southern suburbs of Beirut and the southern and eastern parts of the country.
