Acting on the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today (15 December 2015) deprived Dragan Petković, known as Kupres, of his liberty in Banja Luka on suspicion of committing crimes against civilians in Sarajevo in 1992, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that Petković is suspected of committing crimes as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS). Petković is suspected of committing crimes against civilians of non-Serb ethnicity in the Sarajevo settlements of Nahorevo and Kromolj in June and July 1992.
After the hearing at the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a decision will be made on whether to propose custody for him.
