SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A 40-year-old Bosnian citizen was brutally stabbed on the street in Marchtrenk, Upper Austria, on Friday morning.
The victim was transferred to the hospital with severe injuries, where he soon died. The search for two possible perpetrators was quickly concluded, and a 40-year-old Montenegrin citizen and a 19-year-old young man from Bosnia and Herzegovina were arrested. The motive for the crime is not yet known.
Initially, nothing was known about the victim's identity. The man did not have any documents on him. It later turned out to be a 40-year-old Bosnian citizen. Shortly after the murder, two suspected attackers were arrested at two different locations.
The alleged main perpetrator, a 40-year-old Montenegrin, was recognized by a patrol in a car at 8:50 AM and arrested by the Kobra special unit on the A7 highway en route to the city, in front of the Bindermichl tunnel. At 9:20 AM, the suspected 19-year-old man – also from BiH – was arrested without resistance in a cafe in the neighboring town of Traun, reports Faktor.
It is still unclear why the three Balkan men engaged in this bloody confrontation. They were not very talkative during the initial questioning, which lasted all afternoon. Both arrested individuals are expected to be transferred from police custody in Linz to the prison in Wels today, writes the Austrian daily Kronen Zeitung.
The victim and the suspects may have known each other, and unconfirmed reports suggest they worked at the same warehouse. More information is expected in the coming days.
