
(Patria) - Pedestrian F.D. (64) from Hadžići died tonight at 1:03 AM at the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation at the University Clinical Center, after being hit by a car driven by A.K. (1980) from Hadžići, who was under the influence of alcohol, on Sunday at 5:30 PM, announced the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
The accident occurred on the roadway at the intersection of 6. mart Street and an extension of the same street in the municipality of Hadžići. Pedestrian F.D. sustained severe, life-threatening injuries, and medical assistance was provided by a team from the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service. He was then transferred to the KCUS Clinic for Anesthesiology, where he died from his injuries.
The investigation, supervised by the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, was carried out by members of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and authorized court experts in traffic and mechanical engineering.
By order of the acting prosecutor, driver A.K. was arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm against public traffic safety in connection with the criminal offense of endangering public traffic due to intoxication. Traffic at the mentioned location was suspended until 10:10 PM and was conducted alternately in one lane.
