
(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) this morning carried out a large-scale operational action called "Range" in the Mostar area, SIPA confirmed. The action was carried out under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Mostar and by order of the Municipal Court in Mostar.
Within the action, four persons were arrested who will be brought to SIPA premises during the day for criminal processing and questioning as suspects. Their further status will be decided by the competent prosecutor.
The action was initiated due to suspicion of the criminal offense of "Causing general danger" prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the search of seven locations, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was found and temporarily confiscated, including: four hunting carbines, a hunting rifle, an automatic rifle, an M48 rifle with an optical sight, a small-caliber rifle, a "Glock" pistol of 9 mm caliber, two revolvers, a silencer, a magazine for an automatic rifle, as well as over 1,400 rounds of various ammunition.
In addition to being charged with causing general danger, a report will be filed against the arrested persons for the criminal offense of "Illegal possession of weapons and explosive substances", also under the Criminal Code of the FBiH.
The action was carried out in cooperation with the Border Police of BiH and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. SIPA continues with the investigation, and the collected evidence will be key in further proceedings before the judicial authorities, it was announced from SIPA.
