Acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, members of the RS Ministry of Interior in the Trebinje area arrested suspect Dragan Šarenac, born in 1981, reports the Patria news agency.
During the investigation in the case „Maska“, which concerns several persons suspected of smuggling narcotic drugs from the Trebinje area to the Republic of Croatia (Dubrovnik and surroundings), the Prosecutor's Office gathered evidence on the participation of the said suspect in this organized criminal group.
Suspect Dragan Šarenac is a former member of the RS Ministry of Interior.
After questioning the suspect, the acting prosecutor will submit a proposal for the determination of a custody measure for the reasons described in Article 132, points b) and c) of the BiH Criminal Procedure Code, namely due to the existence of a danger that, if released, the suspect could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as the danger that, if released, he could commit a new criminal offense or complete one already started, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced.
