In 2018, 105 doctors will get jobs at the Public Institution Health Center KS

HADŽIĆI, (Patria) - Due to the burning issue in the work of family medicine in the central facility of the Hadžići Health Center and problems in the work of the Binježevo, Pazarić and Tarčin clinics, today in Hadžići, the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Health of KS Zilha Ademaj, the Director of the Public Institution Health Center KS Fuad Husić, and the Member of the KS Assembly for the Municipality of Hadžići Eldar Čomor held a meeting with the President of the Municipal Council Hadžići Senad Kovačević, the Municipal Mayor Hamdo Ejubović, and representatives of the management of the Hadžići Health Center.

Family medicine in the Municipality of Hadžići will remain with only six doctors from January 3, 2018, and there will be no doctors in Binježevo and Pazarić, while only one doctor will remain in Tarčin.

- I sent a request to urgently hire 19 doctors to solve the problem of family medicine in Hadžići. This is a short-term measure. In the long term, I have informed the KS Government that all 105 doctors in 2018 who are registered with the Employment Bureau will be hired on a fixed-term basis and assigned a 'code' so they can work at full capacity, as they are educated and skilled young professionals. I will also submit an initiative to exempt young doctors from the PATA program, i.e., additional training that prevents their employment. In the next four years, about 70 doctors will retire - informed the attendees Director Husić.

Prime Minister Konaković stated that in the next year, the Sarajevo Canton Government will decide to hire about 180 young professionals to solve current problems and thus train 67 specialist doctors who are currently lacking in the next four years.

Assembly Member Čomor drew the attention of all participants of today's meeting that there are also medical doctors registered with the Employment Bureau in Hadžići, and that they should be considered during the hiring process, primarily because some doctors have previously refused to work in Hadžići.

- Past experiences show that doctors from the Municipality of Hadžići tend to stay the longest in our healthcare institutions - said Assembly Member Čomor.

Mayor Ejubović stated that from the perspective of the local community, the healthcare facilities in the Municipality of Hadžići are well-equipped infrastructurally and technically.

- We have built clinics in Tarčin and Binježevo, equipped the central facility, and continuously procure new medical equipment. We will continue this in the period ahead, together with our businessmen. The staffing problem is something that will be resolved by higher authorities responsible for it.
