Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton seeks detention for Mustafa Hodžić on suspicion of murder

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton has submitted a proposal to the Cantonal Court in Tuzla for a one-month detention for Mustafa Hodžić (67) from Bokavići near Lukavac
due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder.

There is reasonable suspicion that on May 31, 2020, at around 12:30 PM, Hodžić waited for his neighbor and relative E. Hodžić and his wife in a field in the place of Bokavići, and fired one shot from a hand-made pistol that hit the side window of the tractor in which they were sitting.

When the spouses began to flee, he chased the husband on foot and fired two more shots in his direction, hitting him in the back and then in the head, which caused the death of E. Hodžić.

According to witness statements, the suspect and the married couple had been in poor relations for a long time.

The suspect was deprived of liberty on the same day, a criminal investigation was conducted, and he was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office along with a report on the committed criminal offense.

The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation, questioned the suspect, and also issued an order for an autopsy of the body, which will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office to precisely determine the injuries inflicted on the victim and what caused the death.
