(Patria) - The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton has submitted a proposal to the preliminary proceedings judge of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla for the imposition of a one-month detention measure for Emin Mustafić (31) from Tuzla, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder.
He is suspected of firing a firearm at Ismar Karahmet (27) from Tuzla on September 30, 2023, in the apartment where he lived in the Tuzla neighborhood of Miladije, inflicting a gunshot wound to the chest area and killing him. Prior to this, Karahmet, along with two other individuals, came to his building, entered the apartment carrying a plastic bat, and physically confronted Mustafić for reasons still unknown.
The suspect was deprived of his liberty immediately after the incident. The on-duty prosecutor and investigators from the Criminal Police Sector of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior conducted an on-site investigation. Police officers carried out criminal processing, and the suspect, along with a report on the committed criminal offense and accompanying material evidence, was handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office.
The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and interrogated Mustafić.
Necessary investigative actions and expert examinations are underway to determine all circumstances related to the events.
