Prosecutor's Office of TK on the operation: Six persons suspected of criminal offenses

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of the Tuzla Canton issued a statement regarding the operation being conducted under their order and the order of the Municipal Court in Tuzla. Members of the Agency for Investigation and Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA) are today conducting searches at several locations in Tuzla, Gračanica, and Živinice.

"This is a case that was preceded by a months-long investigation by this Prosecutor's Office and relates to irregularities during the rigging of a multi-million tender for a company from Gračanica for the execution of research and exploitation boreholes in the area of the Tetima rock salt deposit within the Tuzla Salt Mine, during which tenders were annulled multiple times to favor this company, culminating in the conclusion of a contract with this company, which has neither the human nor material resources to carry out these works.

Six persons are suspected of committing the criminal offense of association for the purpose of committing criminal acts in conjunction with the criminal offense of receiving a reward or other forms of benefit for influence peddling, and in the case of three responsible persons from the Tuzla Salt Mine, also the criminal offense of abuse of position and authority," stated the Prosecutor's Office of TK.

We will be able to provide more information after the completion of the searches, which are still ongoing.

At 1:00 PM today, a press conference will be held in the hall of the Prosecutor's Office, which will also be attended by one of the prosecutors handling the case.
