Prosecution reads indictment, everything done according to instructions of a person named Asim

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The presentation of opening statements by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case of "Respirators" has concluded, in which the federal prime minister Fadil Novalić, his deputy Jelka Milićević and the minister of finance, suspended director of the Federal Administration for Civil Protection Fahrudin Solak, and the owner of the company "Srebrena malina" Fikret Hodžić are charged. After that, the defenses presented their opening statements.

Prosecutor Mirza Hukeljić said that the company that would procure 100 respirators was known in advance. As he explained, the selection process for "Srebrena malina" was based on a single SMS message sent to the accused Novalić, stating that this was done according to the instructions of a person named Asim. 

This message was sent to the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, by the accused Fikret Hodžić.

"The time of the commission of these criminal offenses is linked to a specific period after the WHO declared a global epidemic and under circumstances that had changed," said the prosecuting attorney. He stated that in this case, he will prove two things.

The Prosecutor's Office stated in its opening remarks that the entire procurement plan was devised by Novalić, and that Solak and Hodžić followed the instructions. 

 “By presenting material evidence, we will prove that the process of selecting the bidder proceeded in such a way that, in this specific situation, the decision to exempt from the application of the law and the advance selection of the bidder was based on a single SMS message," the prosecutor stated.
