Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton requested detention for four accomplices of Sanjin Sefić

The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton today submitted a proposal to the Cantonal Court for ordering detention for four suspects for aiding Sanjin Sefić during his escape from Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed for Patria by Azra Bavčić, spokesperson of the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton. On the evening of October 10, Sefić hit two girls with his vehicle, who later died, and Sefić fled the scene.

- Detention was requested due to the risk of influencing witnesses and concealing evidence - said Bavčić.

Members of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton arrested on Monday three suspects for aiding Sanjin Sefić in his escape, including his sister Sara Sefić. The fourth person who was being sought was arrested on Tuesday and was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton this morning.

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo should make a decision during tomorrow's day.

The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton arrested A.D. (born 1987) on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense, N.S. (born 1988) and S.S. (born 1994), all residing in Sarajevo, and subsequently S.A. (born 1992) from Sarajevo.

The suspects helped Sefić escape from Sarajevo to Rudo, after which Sefić fled to Serbia via the GP Uvac border crossing. He was arrested late on the evening of October 11 and is in extradition detention in Novi Sad. The Higher Court in Novi Sad is still awaiting documentation from the Ministry of Justice of Serbia regarding his extradition to the Bosnian judiciary.
