KS Prosecutor's Office: We are conducting pre-investigative actions regarding the criminal complaint against Mayor Komšić!

The Patria News Agency recently reported that a former employee of the City Administration of Sarajevo filed a criminal complaint against the current mayor, Ivo Komšić, which was also confirmed by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo.

- The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton is undertaking certain pre-investigative actions, during which the allegations from the criminal complaint are being verified to determine the potential commission of a criminal offense. Upon completion of the verification, the Prosecutor's Office will decide on further actions and measures within its jurisdiction, all with the aim of reaching a final prosecutorial decision - says Alem Hamzić, spokesperson for the KS Prosecutor's Office.

As stated in the criminal complaint, Komšić, acting contrary to the Law on Civil Service of FBiH and contrary to the Rulebook on uniform criteria, rules, and procedures for appointing and assigning civil servants, with the intention of harming another, abused his official position, thereby committing the criminal offense of abuse of official position.

Namely, shortly after his appointment, Komšić changed the Rulebook on internal organization and systematization, while a court proceeding is underway regarding the same, thereby committing a criminal offense and simultaneously violating the Statute of the City of Sarajevo.

Komšić abused his position and authority because, by amending the Rulebook on internal organization and systematization, he directly violated the Statute of the City of Sarajevo.

The Statute of the City of Sarajevo clearly and decisively states that amendments and additions to the internal organization are made with the consent of the City Council.

- It is important to note that the competition for the secretary of the City Administration of Sarajevo was announced precisely according to the illegally amended Rulebook on internal organization and systematization, while the legally conducted competition remains in the mayor's drawer, all according to SDA instructions - says our source.
