Canton Sarajevo Prosecution seeks two more months of detention for Džinović and Sultanović

(Patria) - The acting prosecutors of the Canton Sarajevo Prosecution have proposed to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo an extension of detention for an additional two months for suspects Ahmed Džinović and Semir Sultanović.

The spokesperson of the Canton Sarajevo Prosecution, Azra Bavčić, confirmed that Haris Berhamović remains at large and that a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

- The extension of detention for Džinović and Sultanović was proposed due to the risk that, if released, they could influence witnesses, conceal evidence, and repeat the criminal offense - said Bavčić, as reported by Faktor.

Recall, at the previous hearing, it was stated that the Prosecution determined that the leader of the "Panter" group was Ahmed Džinović, who was then brought to Sarajevo from the Bihać Correctional Facility, where he is serving a sentence for another criminal offense.

According to the prosecutor, the "Panter" organization has been active since 2022. Initially, it operated in Ključ, then expanded its "activities" to the entire Una-Sana Canton, then to the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, and eventually began operating in Sarajevo as well.

According to the Prosecution's allegations, the main "brain" of the operation was precisely Ahmed Džinović, who was the group's leader and determined and ordered how their activities would be carried out, namely, the alleged catching of pedophiles.

Although their original purpose was animal protection, they directed their activities toward a "fight against pedophiles," as they themselves say.

The Prosecution presented data that there is not a single recording showing harm caused to children, nor that any criminal offense against a minor was committed, which members of this group had documented.

According to the Prosecution, members of the "Panter" group were the ones who created fake Facebook profiles, presented themselves as minors, and in this way "lured" certain individuals to meetings.

The meeting would culminate in violence, beatings, and recording of the entire situation. They used these recordings to blackmail the individuals involved in the act, threatening to publish them.

The Prosecution called on the suspects to hand over the recordings and expressed doubt as to whether those recordings even exist.

Earlier, restrictive measures were imposed on suspects Ismet Porobić, Aldin Čančar, Jasmin Hadžić, Alem Hadžić, and Lajla Sultanović, which include a ban on leaving their place of residence, a ban on mutual communication and meetings, and mandatory weekly reporting to the relevant police department.
