Canton Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office: Criminal complaint against Faid Hećo filed in 2014.

The Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo is investigating the allocation of apartments to the veteran population in the Sarajevo settlement of Vogošća.

The investigation is directed against the former Minister for Veteran Affairs of Canton Sarajevo, Faid Hećo (BPS), and several other individuals. They are suspected of committing a series of criminal offenses during the allocation of apartments to the veteran population and the municipality of Vogošća, Sarajevo.

This information was confirmed to the Patria News Agency (NAP) by the spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office of CS, Alem Hamzić.

- The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo is verifying the allegations of a complaint filed in 2014 against the former Minister for Veteran Affairs of Canton Sarajevo, Faid Hećo, and several other individuals on grounds of suspicion of committing criminal offenses - Hamzić confirmed.

- The Prosecutor's Office is determining whether a criminal offense was committed during the allocation of apartments to the veteran population in the Sarajevo settlement of Vogošća. Upon completion of the verification and obtaining all relevant information and evidence, the Prosecutor's Office will make a prosecutorial decision - he added.

A series of omissions were made in the process of purchasing apartments for the veteran population in Vogošća, which harmed veteran families and the public budget.

The entire investigation in this case is directed at the former BPS Minister for Veteran Affairs, Faid Hećo, and as things stand now, the top leadership of the BPS, led by party president Sefer Halilović and his son Semir, was aware of the malversations surrounding the apartment allocation from the very beginning.

The Ministry for Veteran Affairs of CS purchased several apartments for demobilized Army of BiH soldiers and martyr families in the newly built Rosulje settlement in Vogošća. Some apartments were also purchased from the private company Murai-Komerc, which reconfigured parts of the former Biokovo hotel in the center of Vogošća for these purposes.

The Prosecutor's Office investigation currently covers only the part related to the purchase of apartments from the company Murai-Komerc.

Right from the start, explains a source from the Prosecutor's Office, an omission was made – adapted, not new apartments were purchased for the veterans from Murai-Komerc, and many owners had to renovate them urgently afterwards. Other details from this case reveal that the Ministry did not pay the 5% tax on the apartments, thus damaging the public budget by more than 60,000 KM.

A commission has also been formed within the Ministry for Veteran Affairs of Canton Sarajevo to re-examine the entire apartment allocation process, Patria has been confirmed by the Ministry.
