KS Prosecutor's Office Investigating Selman Over FUP Director Election!

The situation regarding the election of the Federal Police Administration director is still not calming down, after the FBiH Government refused to confirm the appointment of Dragan Lukač, who was appointed twice by the Independent Board headed by Sead Selman, writes the Patria News Agency.

Now the KS Prosecutor's Office has also become involved in the whole story, after one of the candidates, Svevlad Hoffmann, who eventually withdrew his candidacy, filed a criminal complaint against Selman. It was confirmed for Patria that the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office received a criminal complaint from Svevlad Hoffmann on November 20 last year, against Sead Selman and others for alleged abuse of official authority during the election procedure for the FUP director.

- The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton has intensified pre-investigation activities in this specific case, in order to determine the potential commission of a criminal offense. Upon completion of these activities, the Prosecutor's Office will decide on taking further actions and measures within its jurisdiction, all with the aim of making a final prosecutorial decision, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner - says Alem Hamzić, spokesperson for the KS Prosecutor's Office.

We remind you that the Office of the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Legislation and Compliance with European Union Regulations also confirmed that the public competition procedure for the election of the Federal Police Administration director was carried out contrary to the law, i.e., that it was necessary to announce the competition under the new law on internal affairs.

The Independent Board of the PFBiH, headed by Sead Selman, proposed Dragan Lukač twice for the election of the Federal Police Administration director, even though he was obliged several years ago to initiate the process of his dismissal due to proven crime and serious breach of official duty.

However, Selman, who is Lukač's subordinate and indebted to him because Lukač saved him from criminal responsibility for stolen official vehicles, traffic accidents he caused while driving drunk, and finally rewarded him by appointing him head of forensics in the FUP, did not pay attention to any of the omissions Lukač made even before he was first appointed director.

Selman did not meet the conditions to be a member of the Independent Board when he was appointed, because he is a chemist, and the Law on Internal Affairs clearly stipulates that only a prominent expert in the fields of legal, social, criminal sciences, human rights, or other related fields can be a member of the Independent Board.

However, Selman, known as a subordinate, was pushed into the Independent Board contrary to the law, and continued to work in that manner, directly on Lukač's orders.
