Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office Investigating Irregularities at ZOI '84

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is conducting pre-investigative actions at the state-owned company ZOI '84, reports the BH news agency Patria (NAP). Alem Hamzić, spokesperson for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, confirmed to the Patria agency that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is undertaking certain pre-investigative actions, including verifying allegations from information submitted to this Prosecutor's Office by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, concerning the business operations of JP ZOI '84, all with the aim of potentially establishing the existence of a criminal offense and identifying any responsible parties.

Employees of ZOI '84 have been on strike for several days. They are demanding the appointment of a new Supervisory Board and a new company director from the company's Assembly, as ZOI '84, following the resignation of Džemal Bisić, is left without management.

Although the Assembly was supposed to be held today, during which new company management was to be elected, this did not happen. Midhat Hubijar, president of the Assembly, told Patria that the Assembly has been postponed to the following Thursday. A new acting Supervisory Board president and a new acting director will be appointed then.

Alija Hodžić, president of the ZOI '84 workers' union, also confirmed that the workers have received firm promises that the company will get new management next week, but that the workers will not give up the strike regardless.

- We will continue with the protests. We will wait to see what happens next Thursday. The company's Assembly and the Government of Sarajevo Canton should know that we will only accept professional people for the new management, people who can lead this company to success, not someone who will further stifle us – said Hodžić.

In addition to new management, ZOI '84 workers are demanding the payment of ten outstanding salaries and contributions, as well as approval for a loan of eight million KM, which will launch new projects and investments in the company, writes Patria. Workers of this company blocked all premises owned by ZOI '84 a few days ago, including Zetra, but released them the next day.
