Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton forms case regarding the death of a woman in Ilidža

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton has formed a case regarding the death of a female person in Ilidža, confirmed Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office of KS for the media. 

"All circumstances leading to the death will be investigated. At this stage, we cannot provide more information," said Bavčić. 

The woman, identified by initials A.K. (1968), had a high fever and symptoms characteristic of coronavirus for 12 days. She sought medical help multiple times and visited the clinic in Hrasnica and the Ilidža Health Center. On Tuesday, around 12 PM, she was brought to the Health Center without signs of life, where death was pronounced. A sample was taken after her death, and it was confirmed that the woman was positive for coronavirus. 

The director of the Public Institution Health Center, Mehmed Kulić, confirmed that the woman was admitted to the Health Center multiple times, but based on the epidemiological questionnaire, there were no suspicions of coronavirus. 

Her daughter, as confirmed to Patria today, has not been tested for coronavirus nor contacted by the epidemiological service.

The company where the woman worked was closed yesterday, and since March 14th, 23 employees have not had contact with the deceased A.K. Company employees reported to epidemiologists and were issued self-isolation orders. 

Aida Pilav, president of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of KS, said today that this is a new cluster and that testing will follow. 

Contacts of the deceased in the last month are still being determined to establish how she was infected with the virus. In this regard, the daughter's contacts will also be checked, given that she lived with her mother.
