Cantonal Prosecutor's Office: Dženan Memić was killed, perpetrator still unknown

A meeting was held in the office of Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Dalida Burzić between prosecutors working on the case of the murder of Dženan Memić, and the police commissioner of the MUP of Canton Sarajevo Vahid Ćosić, head of the criminal police of Canton Sarajevo Džafer Hrvat, and the acting inspectors. The meeting was held with the aim of even better cooperation between this Prosecutor's Office and the police in solving the murder of Dženan Memić (22). The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation against an unknown perpetrator for the criminal offense of murder, it was announced today from the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

We recall, Memić sustained life-threatening injuries on February 8 in Velika aleja in Ilidža, and died on February 15 at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo. When he was attacked, he was in the company of his girlfriend Alisa Mutap, who also sustained injuries. To this day, the circumstances under which he sustained the injuries that led to his death have not been clarified.

Initially, it was said that he was hit by a car, but the investigation determined that the injuries resulted from a blow, i.e., that he was attacked and beaten. The motives for this heinous crime are unknown, and during the investigation, several persons were brought in who were released after questioning. The MUP of Canton Sarajevo and the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo are working on solving this criminal offense.
