Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton will appeal the sentence for Sefić and the acquittal of accomplices

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton is concerned about the verdict for Sanjin Sefić, whom the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison, it was stated for Patria from this institution. 

The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was taken aback by the court decision in which "the factual description of the indictment is changed, accepting the defense expert's finding that Sanjin Sefić was driving at 65 kilometers per hour when he hit and killed Selma Agić and Edita Malkoč with his car."

Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton will file an appeal against the sentence for Sanjin Sefić, as well as against the acquittal of the accused (Sara Sefić, Dino Alić, Saud Nišić, and Amar Salihović) who were charged with aiding the perpetrator after the commission of the criminal offense.

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo stated that they could not change the qualification of the criminal offense to the detriment of the accused, and that the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton used a milder qualification of the criminal offense.
