Prosecution has 228 witnesses to camp killings

The trial of Đorđe Ristanić, wartime leader of Brčko, began today. The most extensive indictment to date finally addresses numerous Brčko death camps where, according to currently known data, 515 civilians from Brčko, Bosniaks and Croats, were brutally killed. It is believed that a large number of civilians from other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina were also killed, who came to Brčko hoping to cross the Sava Bridge and escape to neighboring Croatia from the Bosnian hell where criminals were already rampant.

After the bridge was destroyed on April 30, 1992, they became collateral victims of the horrific crime against non-Serbs in Brčko.

The Prosecution also possesses a special piece of evidence, Đorđe Ristanić's war diary. The indictment against Ristanić was read for three full hours on the first day of the proceedings. A huge amount of evidence is ready. Reading these pieces of evidence alone took more than an hour.

The Prosecution has as many as 228 witnesses at its disposal. The first witness will appear on March 29, 2016, writes Patria.
