Prosecutor's Office of BiH: We are concerned about the safety of prosecutor Čampare due to media attacks

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement today after the daily newspaper Dnevni avaz published an alleged correspondence between prosecutor Dubravko Čampare and witness Azra Sarić, reports the BiH news agency Patria. 

Dnevni avaz claims that Čampare instructed Sarić to testify against Fahrudin Radončić, who is in the detention unit of the Court of BiH and is suspected of obstructing the administration of justice.

According to the newspaper, "the correspondence represents the crown evidence that in this case, the mentioned prosecutor did exactly what the Prosecutor's Office of BiH accused Radončić of: obstructing the administration of justice".

Lawyer Vasvija Vidović, who represented Radončić, reported Čampare to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council.

- The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will certainly, in response to the submission and appeal of the defense regarding detention, state its concern due to media attacks and the endangerment of the safety of prosecutors and witnesses in the case, as well as due to threats to life and safety. In addition to gross fabrications, a photo of prosecutor Čampare was published, as well as the names of the prosecutor and the witness on a black cover, which can be interpreted as a threat to life and safety, which we will certainly state in the submission to the Court of BiH. Furthermore, the HJPC BiH and the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office (DPO) at the HJPC BiH will be informed of all the above - it was announced from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
