Prosecutor's Office of BiH requested custody for eight arrested in Operation Rez

After questioning the suspects, the prosecutor from the Terrorism Department of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH sent a request to the Court of BiH to order custody for eight out of the 11 individuals arrested in Operation Rez, which was carried out on Tuesday, December 23, 2015, when 13 locations were searched, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is seeking custody for the eight arrested: Elvir Muratović, born 04/11/1979 in Rudo, BiH citizen, Kemal Murić, born 10/30/1978 in Rožaj, BiH citizen, Semir Salković, born 07/12/1967 in Gornje Grančarevo, municipality of Trebinje, BiH and Australian citizen, Zulfo Alajbegović, born 12/01/1979 in Rogatica, Edin Tabaković, born 07/06/1964 in Višegrad, BiH citizen, Peco Darko, born 01/19/1985 in Mostar, BiH citizen, Elvir Mašić, born 05/05/1981 in Hadžići, BiH citizen, and Adis Kešan, born 06/21/1995 in Skopje, R. Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the acting prosecutor, who proposed that custody be ordered for the suspects for reasons stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, points b) and d) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH for a period of one month.

The acting prosecutor submitted the request, among other reasons, due to the danger that the suspects might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and influence witnesses or accomplices if released, due to the seriousness of the criminal offense, as imprisonment for over 10 years is prescribed for the offense in question, and the fact that releasing the suspects could cause a disruption of security and public order and peace, and that the safety of citizens and property is endangered.

The aforementioned suspects are suspected of committing the criminal offense of Organizing - belonging to a terrorist group under Article 202d) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201, Paragraph 1, in conjunction with Paragraph 5, points a) and i) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The request for ordering custody has been sent to the Court of BiH.

We remind you that the operation was carried out by members of the FUP with the support of the MUP KS, with FTV cameras present, but apart from a photo of the ISIL flag sent by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to the media as a found item, there are no other official details.
