Prosecutor's Office of BiH: No human remains found at Viktor Bubanj Barracks

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is conducting an exhumation and inspection of a location within the former Viktor Bubanj Barracks in Sarajevo. No human remains were found, it was announced by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.

Following a court order, and at the proposal of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to carry out an exhumation process at one location within the former Viktor Bubanj Barracks in Sarajevo, the exhumation process began today around 11 AM.

Namely, during construction work, workers found several objects and one bone in a shallow layer beneath the ground. In the presence of a prosecutor and expert staff of the Prosecutor's Office, as well as authorized persons attending exhumations, the inspection and excavation at the mentioned location began.

A preliminary examination of a total of two small bones found determined by the forensic pathologist that they were not of human origin.

The exhumation continues, and the public will be informed about the results of the exhumation and any potential human remains found. The Prosecutor's Office also notes that it is the only authorized body to provide information and warns unauthorized persons not to provide inaccurate information to the media about this exhumation process, thereby misleading the public and the media. If human remains are found, the Prosecutor's Office will certainly inform the public and the media.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is making maximum efforts in the process of searching for missing persons at all locations and in all parts of BiH, with the aim of finding and identifying missing persons who are still being searched for, the statement reads.
