Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina seeks detention for five members of the polling station committee due to election fraud

(Patria) - After being handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the acting prosecutor questioned the suspects in the presence of their lawyers, and a motion for detention was submitted to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for all 5 suspects.

The detention measure was proposed for the suspects:

1. Halilović Suvadu, born in 1954, Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad
2. Vakufac Emiru, born in 1970, Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad
3. Hamzagić Ramiza, born in 1967, Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad
4. Džafić Ismeta, born in 1958, Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad
5. Mehinović Ismeta, born in 1970, Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad

The detention measure is necessary due to the continuation of investigative activities by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and partner police agencies, regarding all circumstances of the commission of criminal offenses related to the delivery of a large number of completed ballots to the polling station. Through a thorough investigation by the prosecutor's office and police agencies, efforts will be made to identify all persons connected with this criminal offense, as well as the organizers and instigators of these illegal activities. Namely, there is a risk that if left at large, the suspects could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and exert influence on witnesses or accomplices.

The aforementioned suspects are under investigation for the criminal offenses of: Election fraud under Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Deprivation of voting rights under Article 150 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in communication with the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is undertaking activities to ensure the conditions necessary for holding a lawful election process at the said polling station.

Otherwise, voting will be held on October 9 at that polling station Hozići (Novi Grad - RS). 465 voters have the right to vote.
