Prosecutor's Office of BiH Requests Detention for Fahrudin Radončić

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH requests detention for suspect Fahrudin Radončić, given that after the decision on the appeal of the Court of BiH, procedural conditions have been met, it was announced tonight from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- The decision of the Court of BiH rejected the appeals of the Prosecutor's Office and the defense, and house arrest remained in force, but given that the suspect violated the prohibition measures, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH requests the imposition of a detention measure.

Also, recent events, when even persons with final convictions abuse prohibition measures and become unavailable to the judiciary of BiH (Đukić, Šabić, Brkić), show that detention is an effective means of ensuring the presence of suspects and convicted persons - it was stated.

Recall, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 5, 2016, filed an indictment against Fahrudin Radončić, Bakir Dautbašić, Bilsena Šahman, and Zijad Hadžijahić.

- The aforementioned persons are charged with, among other things, organizing and becoming members of an organized group of people, which was organized and led by Fahrudin Radončić, and through their actions, mutual agreements, and interconnected activities, in the period from December 14, 2015, to January 12, 2016, committed criminal offenses:

Fahrudin Radončić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of Justice (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH); 

Bakir Dautbašić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of Justice (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH); 

Bilsena Šahman, criminal offense of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH) and Obstruction of Justice (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and

Zijad Hadžijahić, criminal offenses of Organizing for the Purpose of Committing Criminal Offenses (Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Obstruction of Justice (Article 241 of the Criminal Code of BiH), and Giving a Reward or Other Form of Benefit for Influence Peddling (Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH).

The prosecutor will prove the allegations of the indictment and the guilt of the aforementioned persons by hearing 27 witnesses, findings of four expert witnesses, and submitting more than 160 pieces of material evidence.

Recall, Dautbašić and Šahman were arrested on January 13, and Radončić on January 25, 2016. (av)
