SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after examining the suspects in the presence of lawyers, submitted to the Court of BiH a proposal for ordering a detention measure for all five suspects who were deprived of liberty in an operation by SIPA and partner police agencies, in the area of Trebinje and its surroundings.
The detention measure was requested due to the risk of the suspects fleeing, the risk that while at large they could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as repeat the criminal offense or complete what was started, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
The suspects are charged with organized crime, related to the smuggling of large quantities of narcotic drugs, money laundering, preparation of a criminal offense related to murder, as well as other criminal offenses, committed in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, including overseas countries.
The detention proposal was submitted to the Court of BiH, where a hearing on the prosecutor's proposal is expected to be scheduled.
