Prosecutor's Office of BiH seeks prohibition measures for those arrested in Operation Art

After questioning the suspects arrested in Operation Art, which was carried out two days ago in BiH and Croatia, the acting prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH will submit a proposal for the imposition of prohibition measures covering the suspects: Petrović Jasminko, born on 18.03.1971 in Brčko, residing in Orašje, citizen of BiH, Marković Miroslav, born on 15.07.1962 in Orašje, residing in Orašje, citizen of BiH, Josipović Željko, born on 15.01.1969 in Brčko, residing in Šamac, citizen of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The proposed prohibition measures, in accordance with Article 126 of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, include a ban on leaving the place of residence, a travel ban and confiscation of personal documents, a ban on meeting with witnesses and suspects in the case, and periodic reporting to the competent police station.

The measures are proposed with the aim of ensuring the unimpeded continuation of the investigation.

The suspects in Operation "Art" were deprived of their liberty in a coordinated operation of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and USKOK in the Republic of Croatia, which was carried out on a pre-arranged signal in both countries, against a total of 11 suspects.

The persons under investigation are suspected of organizing for the purpose of committing criminal offenses under Article 249 of the Criminal Code of BiH, as well as other criminal offenses including forgery of personal documents of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, passports, as well as forgery of official badges and identification cards of police and security agencies in BiH and Croatia.

The proposal for prohibition measures will be submitted to the Court of BiH. The investigation continues towards the filing of an indictment.
