(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received information that the first indictment using evidence from Sky and Anom applications in the case of Dalibor Railić and others has been fully confirmed.
Railić is suspected of ordering the murder of police inspector Radenko Bašić from Prijedor.
Together with Veljko Ugrenović and others who were apprehended in the police operation "Storage 2", he is also suspected of criminal offenses of organized crime in connection with unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs.
Dalibor Railić, known as Dugi, had been looking for someone to kill the head of the criminal police of the Prijedor Police Department, Radenko Bašić, for almost half a year via the Sky application.
This is the first indictment filed after the analysis of the Sky application, and it has now been officially confirmed.
Furthermore, the accused Railić is charged with using large sums of money, illegally acquired through drug-related criminal offenses, to purchase apartments, real estate, expensive vehicles, and keeping them in bank accounts. The Court of BiH has requested and executed the blocking of the accused's property, and during the proceedings, the confiscation of all illegally acquired property will be sought.
The accused Dalibor Railić, Aleksandar Miljatović, and Igor Repajić are charged that, after the accused Railić organized a group of people with the aim of murdering the head of the Prijedor criminal police, Radenko Bašić, in order to prevent investigations into organized crime and drug smuggling, they joined an organized group within which the accused Miljatović committed the aggravated murder of Radenko Bašić on March 21, 2022, using a firearm in a public place in the early morning hours. Due to the brutality of the execution, as well as the fact that a police officer was murdered, the security situation in Prijedor and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina was severely disrupted.
The accused are charged with criminal offenses: Organized Crime (Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Unauthorized Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs (Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH), Money Laundering (Article 209), and Aggravated Murder (Article 125 of the Criminal Code of RS), a criminal offense for which, under current law, a sentence of life imprisonment can be imposed.
The prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 76 witnesses, 4 expert witnesses from various fields, and by submitting hundreds of pieces of evidence, including evidence from Sky and Anom applications, obtained through international legal assistance and international exchange of evidence with partner institutions from EU countries and the world.
Railić is in custody, which has been extended due to the risk of escape, as well as the risk that the suspect, if at liberty, could obstruct the investigation and conceal evidence. He is also in custody due to the risk that he might influence witnesses or accomplices, or repeat a criminal offense or complete an attempted one.
