An indictment has been raised against eight individuals, who are charged with crimes committed against the Bosniak population in the area of Srebrenica and its surroundings in 1995, as a result of joint cooperation in the processing of war crimes cases, reports the Patria news agency.
Following the information from the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office of Serbia that an indictment has been raised against eight individuals, citizens of Serbia, for war crimes committed at the Kravica ZZ site after the fall of the Srebrenica Protected Zone in July 1995, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH expresses support for colleagues in their efforts to shed light on, process, and punish the perpetrators of war crimes.
The aforementioned individuals were arrested in an operation by the Serbian prosecutor's office and police in several cities in Serbia in March this year.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH provided assistance to colleagues in processing this case. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office of Serbia continue cooperation within the framework of memoranda and agreements on regional cooperation, in order to prevent war crimes from remaining unpunished.
We thank the UN mission and UNDP in BiH for their assistance in strengthening the capacity of regional cooperation in detecting and punishing war crimes, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH stated.
