Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment against Slobodan Ćurčić for war crimes in Foča

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment against Slobodan Ćurčić, born in 1970 in Foča, residing in Montenegro.

The accused is charged with acting contrary to the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilian persons during wartime, as part of a widespread and systematic attack on the civilian population of Bosniak ethnicity in the Foča area during the war in BiH.

The accused is charged with, as a member of the VRS, during 1992, during an attack on the village of Hum in the Foča municipality, committing the murder of two civilians of Bosniak ethnicity by firing a firearm.

Furthermore, the accused is charged with participating, together with other persons, in the rape and sexual abuse of women and girls of Bosniak ethnicity, and personally committing the rape of one person.

The accused is charged with the criminal offense of crimes against humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 13 witnesses and expert witnesses and submitting around 50 pieces of material evidence.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
