Prosecutor's Office of BiH opens investigation against Zubac!

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an order to conduct an investigation against the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH (SIPA) Goran Zubac, Federal Television reported tonight.

State Prosecutor Miroslav Marković issued the decision to conduct an investigation due to negligence in service, as Zubac refused to intervene during the attack by demonstrators on the Presidency of BiH, despite a request from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH.

As the BiH news agency reported earlier today, SIPA showed exceptional readiness to conduct complex anti-terrorist operations like the one in Gornja Maoča, while BiH law enforcement agencies cannot guarantee the security of BiH institutions or international organizations. 

To our question of how it is possible that SIPA and its special units are not capable of protecting the Presidency of BiH, the state flag, and the state Archive from a few dozen hooligans, but are capable of anti-terrorist operations, SIPA explains that it is not their jurisdiction. SIPA spokesperson Kristina Jozić says that the operation "Light", led by FUP with SIPA's participation, "cannot be put in the context of suppressing riots".

- Exactly as we stated in the official statement, according to the current legal regulations, ensuring public order and peace in BiH is exclusively within the jurisdiction of entity and cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs, i.e., the Police of Brčko District, for which the mentioned police bodies have specialized trained personnel, including material-technical resources and specialized vehicles intended for suppressing riots and controlling crowds - states Jozić.
