Prosecutor's Office of BiH opens investigation into the murder of Dženan Memić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – On the eve of today's protests in front of the building of state judicial institutions in Sarajevo, Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, was summoned to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH where he spoke with Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić. 

Memić confirmed to the Patria agency that he had a conversation with Tadić and one prosecutor regarding the murder case of his son. He did not wish to discuss the details of the meeting. 

According to information from the Patria agency, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is actively working on the murder case of Dženan Memić. So far, several individuals who have knowledge of the events on the night of February 8, 2016, when the young man sustained injuries from which he died on February 15, 2016, have been questioned. 

Earlier, the young man's father Muriz gave a statement at the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and his sister Arijana will soon do the same. In October of last year, Memić and his lawyer Ifet Feraget filed criminal charges against more than 40 individuals, with the first reported being Dalida Burzić, then Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton. Burzić was appointed as a judge of the Court of BiH in February of this year, even though at the same time a disciplinary proceeding was being conducted against her due to public statements about the Memić case and inappropriate communication with the victim's father. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH could soon issue an order to conduct an investigation that would finally determine who, why, and how Dženan Memić was killed. 

The Memić family is now awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH in the „Dženan Memić“ case, and whatever it may be, new protests will be organized. We remind you that Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović were acquitted of charges for causing a traffic accident and obstructing evidence, and the Cantonal Court determined that there is no evidence that a traffic accident occurred at all, and that the injuries on Dženan Memić do not correspond to those from traffic accidents. 

„As soon as the decision is made, I will schedule a date for the protest and I expect these to be mass protests. Today we saw that the VSTV turned a deaf ear. We are left to believe Tegeltija, not to believe our own eyes about what we saw.“

Sarajlija is the same as Burzić

Muriz Memić commented on today's election of the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton, Sabina Sarajlija. 

„My information is that Sabina Sarajlija was not elected, but rather Dalida Burzić was 'returned'. She is Dalida's favorite, the situation in the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office remains the same. The VSTV has shown whom it trusts. After the letters from the US Embassy and the OSCE and Mr. Wigemark, and again the VSTV does this, it only confirms that they are up to their necks in crime“, said Memić.   

Dalida Burzić should know that I will not stop, she picked the wrong person, said Memić.

„Dalida Burzić has no place in the judiciary, and it is time for Tegeltija and his cronies to leave because they have brought the judiciary down to their level. Tegeltija was even planted to dismantle the judiciary. Today at the protests there were Muriz, Dragan, and Josip, Bosnia in miniature“, says Memić.
