
(Patria) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against seven persons for organized crime related to unauthorized international trafficking of the narcotic drug "cocaine" from EU countries to the territory of BiH.
The indictment was filed against: MITJA KONTIČ, born in 1988 in Slovenj Gradec, Republic of Slovenia, a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia, in custody, ALEKSANDAR NIKOLIĆ, nicknamed “Saša”, born in 1991 in Sarajevo, a citizen of BiH, in custody, BORIS GRUJIĆ, born in 1981 in Banja Luka, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia, SLAVEN RADINKOVIĆ, born in 1997 in Banja Luka, a citizen of BiH, JOVAN ŠUMAN, born in 1997 in Banja Luka, a citizen of BiH, IGOR ZARIĆ, born in 1996 in Banja Luka, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia, and DAMJAN TEPIĆ, born in 1993 in Banja Luka, a citizen of BiH.
The accused are charged with, in the period from August 2022 to April 2023, as members of an organized crime group operating in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia, acting jointly with clearly defined roles and tasks, with the aim of obtaining unlawful material gain, on several occasions carrying out unauthorized international transfer, concealment and delivery of the narcotic drug "cocaine" in larger quantities from abroad to Bosnia and Herzegovina, for further sale in the territory of BiH.
According to the indictment, the accused Mitja Kontič is charged with smuggling and delivering to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina the narcotic drug "cocaine" in the amount of 1 kilogram hidden in a vehicle compartment, the value of which on the illegal drug market reaches the amount of 35,000 euros.
The said narcotic drug was seized during the implementation of the operation codenamed "Market", by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the RS Ministry of Interior, in February 2023, at the moment of handing over the narcotic drug in a rented apartment in the area of Banja Luka, and on that occasion the accused Šuman, Radinković, Zarić, Tepić and Grujić were deprived of their liberty.
Furthermore, the accused Kontič is charged with, on March 14 this year, after taking over the narcotic drug "cocaine" in the amount of two kilograms in Ljubljana, according to a prior agreement, handing over the narcotic drug to Aleksandar Nikolić and receiving money in the amount of 18,000 euros.
Both were deprived of their liberty in a coordinated operation of the KS Ministry of Interior and the RS Ministry of Interior in the area of Sarajevo, and during the search, money in the said amount was found.
During searches carried out at several locations, 1 kilogram of the narcotic drug "cocaine", a large amount of money, a pistol, a number of mobile phones, two passenger cars used in the commission of the said criminal offenses were found and seized, one of which has a built-in special bunker for illegal transport of goods, a so-called 'hide', which was used for smuggling.
The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of BiH.
