(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of BiH reacted to today's press release by BiH Court Judge Branko Perić, who presented a series of criticisms and even accusations against a certain group of prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
"Making any unfounded and arbitrary accusations against prosecutors is not in line with judicial ethics, and if Judge Perić has knowledge of any illegal actions by prosecutors, he can report them to the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office. Also, we consider the judge's statement, which refers to still ongoing cases that have not been legally concluded, to be inappropriate.
We reject any unfounded accusations against the work of prosecutors, and anyone who has knowledge of illegal actions can report it to the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office as well as to the competent institutions. In this way, public trust in the rule of law cannot be built, and we believe that the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office can assess the regularity of the actions of all holders of prosecutorial and judicial functions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH received an anonymous report concerning certain actions of Judge Perić, and the submission was processed through the CMS system by a prosecutor who will verify the validity of the allegations in the report. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH receives at least several such reports daily, signed or anonymous, and all are treated equally, as it would be illegal to ignore submissions reporting illegal actions, and all submitters must also know that false reporting is a criminal offense," stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
