Prosecutor's Office of BiH not satisfied with colleagues from Serbia

The War Crimes Prosecutor's Office of Serbia said they cooperate very successfully with the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, emphasizing that they have exchanged information and evidence in 57 war crimes cases.

That the cooperation is not of a technical nature, the Prosecutor's Office of Serbia recalls the cases of “Štrpci” and “Srebrenica”, where joint investigations were formed.

Two months ago, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH expressed dissatisfaction with the decision of the Serbian judiciary to sentence Branko Gojković to ten years in prison after reaching a plea agreement for the murder of 800 Srebrenica victims at the Branjevo Military Farm.

From the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, they stated that Gojković should have been sentenced to a longer sentence given that it is “one of the most brutal executions in the Srebrenica genocide”.

Also, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH called on their Serbian colleagues to speed up the prosecution of suspects for crimes committed in Srebrenica.

- In Serbia, there are still members of the Tenth Sabotage Detachment – such as Zoran Obrnović, known as Maljić, then former adjutant of Ratko Mladić, Dragomir Pećanac, as well as the detachment commander Milomir Pelemiš, who even gives interviews on TV shows – and in the interest of justice, we call on the judiciary of Serbia to prosecute these suspects or extradite them to BiH - stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

When it comes to the “Štrpci” case, a trial is ongoing before the judiciary in BiH for ten defendants, and confirmation of the indictment is awaited for the 11th accused, who are charged with removing passengers from the train on the “Belgrade – Bar” route, who were abused and tortured, and then killed on the banks of the Drina River.

The judiciary of Serbia has still not confirmed the indictment for the crime committed in Štrpci, although it was filed in early March against five former members of the Republika Srpska forces, writes BIRN, as reported by Patria.
